Through the use of a single ticket and the simplicity of baggage transfers, Emirates and Sri Lankan Airlines have inked an interline agreement that will provide access to new points on each other’s networks via Colombo and Dubai.

Through Colombo, 15 regional Sri Lankan Airlines destinations will be accessible to Emirates passengers thanks to the interline arrangement.

In addition to Gan Island in the Maldives, the interline network now offers flights to Madurai and Tiruchirapally in India. Cochin, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Malé, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jakarta, Guangzhou, Seoul, and Tokyo are other destinations in the Far East and South Asia.

Using a Boeing 777-300ER, Emirates now offers two daily direct flights to Colombo as well as a third daily route via Malé. It is the only foreign airline that offers first-rate services to the nation.

Additionally, Sri Lankan Airlines passengers will gain access to Emirates’ extensive global network and connections to 15 additional Emirates-operated cities. Along with numerous US cities, such as New York JFK, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, and Houston, it includes places like Bahrain, Amman, Dammam, Medina, Cairo, Muscat, Nairobi, Moscow, and Tel Aviv.

“We are happy to launch an interline cooperation with Sri Lankan and provide our clients more options and access to new locations to accommodate their travel needs. Customers may easily fly from Colombo to uncommon locations in India and the Maldives thanks to this agreement. According to Adnan Kazim, chief commercial officer of Emirates, “We look forward to expanding our cooperation in the near future and enhancing benefits that customers can enjoy when traveling with Emirates and Sri Lankan on one ticket.”

Sri Lankan Airlines CEO Richard Nuttall continued, “We are pleased to announce our renewed interline partnership with Emirates. Working with Emirates, a really international airline with a long history in Sri Lanka is a real joy for us. The agreement expands travel alternatives to and from Sri Lanka, helping travelers there and abroad and promoting tourism to the “Pearl of the Indian Ocean.”
