Ethiopian Airlines Group has announced its plans to commence thrice-weekly passenger services to Bangui, the capital and largest city of the Central African Republic (CAR), starting from November 15, 2023.

The flights to Bangui will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Mr. Mesfin Tasew, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group, expressed his enthusiasm about this new addition to their extensive African and global network. He stated, “We are thrilled to include the Central African Republic in our extensive route network. Our valued passengers traveling to and from Bangui will have the opportunity to experience our renowned, award-winning services.”

Mr. Tasew further emphasized the positive impact of these flights on enhancing socio-economic ties between Addis Ababa and Bangui, and beyond. He highlighted, “Our connectivity not only links Bangui to Addis Ababa but also connects the Central African Republic (CAR) to over 130 international destinations spanning across five continents. This expanded travel option will greatly enhance Bangui’s bilateral relationships with the rest of the world. As a dedicated pan-African carrier, Ethiopian Airlines will continue to expand its presence across the African continent.”

It’s worth noting that Ethiopian Airlines has previous experience in serving the Central African Republic market, having operated the route from 2010 to 2015. This renewed connectivity will provide passengers with seamless travel options to over 150 passenger and cargo destinations, both international and domestic, served by Ethiopian Airlines’ modern fleet of more than 140 aircraft.
