About Melcom Plus Accra – Ghana

The largest chain of retail department shops in Ghana is called Melcom Limited (Melcom Plus Accra). Their headquarters are in Accra, Ghana, in the North Industrial Area of 2nd Palace Link Road. The majority of their revenue comes from retail, and because they stock such a wide variety of products, the brand also ranks highly in semi-wholesale and wholesale distribution.

Melcom Limited, Century Industries Limited, Crownstar Electronic Industries Limited, Melcom Travels Limited, and Melcom Care Foundation are the five distinct companies that make up the Melcom Group of Companies. One of Ghana’s top retail chains is Melcom Limited, the founding firm of the Melcom Group.

The Group is well-diversified into other businesses in addition to securing a sizeable portion of the retail market with a network of 51 Melcom retail shops and 10 cash ‘n’ carry depots located throughout Ghana.

Melcom Group has expanded through backward integration and upholds the value of integration. This has made it possible for the brand to access a variety of businesses, including those that produce plastics, electronics, and services.

Although Melcom plus Accra primary source of revenue is from retail, they are also significant participants in semi-wholesale and wholesale distribution because of their extensive inventory of products and extensive distribution network.

Melcom Plus Accra has emerged as one of Ghana’s greatest retail successes during the past 25 years. With nearly 30 open and operating shopping centres, it is currently the largest chain in the nation. The largest of these is in the North Industrial Area (details are provided below), where the mall’s three levels have just about everything you could possibly need, including clothing, white goods, household products, fresh fruit and vegetables, and a variety of meals. All along the range, new lines are regularly being added.

Next door are a KFC, a pharmacy, and a café. The most recent branch of Melcom is in Accra’s East Legon neighbourhood (Bawaleshie, Mensah Wood Road, close to Sel Filling Station). Earlier branches had been added in Tema (Post Office Road, Traffic Light Meridian, opposite Vodafone Tema Community, 026 4922 600), Kumasi (Prempeh 2nd Street, Adum), and Tema and Kumasi. Open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and from noon to 6:30 p.m. on weekends. In addition, the business has a travel division called Melcom Travel and Tours Ltd. You can reach them at Melcom Plus Accra, Kaneshie (Otublohum Street, North Industrial Area, PO Box GP56, 0302 252 984, 024 907636, travels@melcomgroup.com).
