Accra Mall (the first and oldest Mall in Ghana) on the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange adjacent to the Tema Motorway is arguably the busiest and most popular mall in Ghana. Even though there are other new Malls in the country but Accra Mall is still the best among all.
Back in high school during every Christmas vacation, my friends and I will dress up for Mall day on 26 December which is every Boxing day. I wonder if the place still gets crowded or choke during Mall days since there are other new Malls in the country. But still, Accra mall is the best after all these years.
The Accra Mall is popular and always busy because of its location, which I believe. However, it is close to some of the popular destinations and hot spots in the capital where locals and tourists like to hang out like the Airport residential, Villagio apartment, and some other popular hotels and spots.
Well, I love shopping and spending time at the Mall and I was thinking I could come up with a piece to help you know more about the Accra Mall and a little guide for you.
Everything You Need To Know

Where Is Accra mall
Accra Mall is a state-of-the-art retail and shopping center in Accra, Ghana. It is located on the Tetteh Quarshie interchange adjacent to the Tema Motorway. There is another direction other give that will still get you to the Mall which is the Spintex road adjacent to the Tema Motorway.
The Mall is an enclosed fully air-conditioned shopping center making shopping comfortable or stress-free. It is not the biggest mall in Ghana right now but has a space of 21,311 square meters with parking space for over 660 cars.
How To Get To Accra Mall
Using a taxi or online cabs (Uber and Bolt) is the best way to get to the Mall and also the best way to get around the city, but might not be the cheapest option. Jump into a taxi and ask the driver to take you to Accra Mall. It is best to ask for price and reduction before telling the driver to move. Taxi drivers in Ghana like to over-price. But online cabs already have destination prices there.
Using the minibusses (trotro) is the cheapest way to get to Accra Mall but a little stressful and annoying. There will be stops on the ways and you have to get down for others to get down at their destination and get back in. It might sound complicated but try using the minibus (trotro) to the mall and you will understand. Read more on how to travel around Ghana and plan your next trip.

Who Is The Owner Of Accra Mall
The most important question I get a lot these days is who is the Accra Mall for. And I’m sure it can’t be for a single person.
The Mall was commissioned on 4th July 2008. It was founded by the late Joseph Owusu Akyaw and it was owned by Atterbury Property Development, Sanlam, Owusu-Akyaw Family.
How Much Does Accra Mall Cost
Since it was a big project, it cost the company about $36 million USD. There have been some renovations so I’m pretty sure it might be more expensive than that.
