Highlands Estate, City Bowl – Cape Town Places

With breathtaking views of Table Mountain, Lion’s Head, Signal Hill, and the city sprawled out below you like a tapestry, Highlands Estate is located on the lower slopes of Table Mountain, tucked between the suburbs of Vredehoek and Oranjezicht. Despite being only five minutes from the Mother City’s centre, this highly sought-after suburb manages to evoke country living with lovely older homes and a sense of being suspended above and far from the city’s hustle and bustle. It is hidden in the shade of impressive pine trees.

In Cape Town, Highlands Estate is convenient for everything. The Table Mountain Nature Reserve, with its popular mountain and woodland trails and cableway to the summit, is only a short distance away. Only a short drive away are the well-liked and up-and-coming Atlantic beaches, such as Clifton and Camps Bay. It is also simple to get to the town’s centre, which features numerous museums, galleries, and structures of architectural interest, as well as the lively Long Street.

About 10 minutes from Highlands Estate is the V&A Waterfront, where you can take an open-top bus around the city, go to the Two Ocean Aquarium, take a ferry to Robben Island, or go shopping ’til you drop. Constantia’s Wine Route, one of the oldest appellation districts in the Cape, is only a 20-minute drive away if wine sampling is what you’re looking.
