La Colombe Cape Town is a well-known and internationally recognised fine dining institution in South Africa. Originally established on the ancient Constantia Uitsig wine farm, it has recently relocated to the magnificent Silvermist organic wine estate at the top of Constantia Nek, with breathtaking views of the Constantia wine valley, False Bay, and Hout Bay, under new ownership.

Scot Kirton, the executive chef, bases his concept and approach on the fusion of Asian and French cuisine, as well as the quest of quality and perfection on each plate, which has earned him numerous local and international honours.

The essence of his inspiration and enthusiasm for food is the freshest seasonal produce, simply pure flavours, and classical elegance. The a la carte menu at La Colombe, as well as the Gourmand Tasting Menu, are built around Scot’s delivery of his hallmark dishes and his never-ending assortment of stunning new inspirations.

New menu launched a couple of weeks ago and it is beyond incredible. Every dish is creative, playful and inventive but at the end of the day it all comes down to taste and that is definitely the case here. The restaurant is beautiful and the service is friendly and not intimidating as it could often be at fine dining restaurants. If I had Michelin stars I would give it to La Calombe.

Winter menu fabulous and amazing value at only R495pp. A real spoiler and treat for that special occasion. It’s been a long time since my last visit when at Uitsig and this is just sooo much better! Get there and you won’t be disappointed even on the poor SA Rond.

A visit to La Colombe is such a treat I do not even know where to begin. Over the years we have treated ourselves to the Winter Special. This year being our 10 year anniversary, we decided to go the distance and experience the Gourmand menu. Wow wow and wow! I really believe that each year James and his team get better and better. The food was completely out of this world and the table side theatre with the chefs preparing little experiences in front of you, takes the dining experience to the next level. The food truly is of the highest standard and the creativity, just magic! It goes without saying that the service from the incredibly friendly / experienced waitering staff and Sommeliers makes your dining experience complete. If you have not experience La Colombe put it on your list of things to do! Thank you to the team for making our evening so memorable.
