Sunninghill is a residential and commercial neighbourhood in the Johannesburg suburbs of Woodmead, Rivonia, and Lone Hill. There are many companies, locals, and visitors in this region. The Leeuwkop Golf Club tranquil, rolling fairways, however, are right in the middle of everything. Lt. General van Zyl of the Department of Correctional Services had the idea and the vision to build a golf course for the agency.
Due to its price and accessibility, Leeuwkop still serves the department as well as other golfers and tourists. Visitors are welcome to the course every day, with the exception of Saturday and Sunday mornings when it is closed. Also welcomed are tee times.
The fact that the play is free and available to the public will please visitors. To avoid disappointment, it is strongly advised that you reserve your Sandton hotel or lodging as well as your tee times in advance.
The practice area and putting green are fantastic additions to the course since they let players put themselves to the test and boost their self-assurance off the fairways. Additionally, there is a halfway house with a bar and restaurant where friends and coworkers can get together, unwind, and talk about their game.
Sports may be watched on large-screen televisions, and there is a roomy balcony with lovely views of the course. The on-site pro store is complemented by rental golf carts and clubs to give players a complete golfing experience. There is also a Lapa area and function space for business gatherings and other occasions.
