Maiden’s Cove – Cape Town Beaches

Maiden’s Cove is surrounded by the lush foliage of the Western Cape mountains and the chilly blue of the ocean, perched between the picturesque lengths of Clifton and Glen Beach. The Twelve Apostles Mountain Range and the rear of the renowned Table Mountain may both be seen from this vantage near Camps Bay, Cape Town.

The beautiful tidal pool in Maiden’s Cove makes for safe and enjoyable swimming. Large, rounded stones that surround the pool shield it from the wind and provide great areas for tanning. When it comes to places to explore amid the rocks, little ones are spoiled for choice. At Maiden’s Cove, there is also a grassy area that is ideal for picnics and barbecues on leisurely weekend afternoons.

Although the water from the Atlantic Ocean is freezing, it is enticing for children who are hardy and don’t seem to mind the cold during the warm summer months. Between June and November, southern right and humpback whales pass by the coastlines, enticing onlookers with their showy blows, leaps from the sea, and fluke splashes on the water’s surface. Dolphins can always be seen in the seas. This is one of the best places in the region for free diving because of the profusion of marine life. Those who visit Maiden’s Cave can use the public restrooms.

Visitors can watch some of South Africa’s most breathtaking sunsets from this location, followed by a drink at one of Camps Bay’s numerous pubs or restaurants serving world-famous South African wines or cocktails.
