Plattekloof, Northern Suburbs – Cape Town

Plattekloof, which was formerly a part of the De Villiers Graaf family trust, is today one of Cape Town’s most sought-after neighbourhoods. Due in part to the preponderance of opulent homes constructed in sizable security estates – regarded as the most exclusive in the Western Cape Province – and the views – from here you can see right across to the city, including Table Mountain and the ocean – comparisons have been made with Constantia’s Steenberg region with its 40-hectare golf estate.

Plattekloof borders the De Grendel wine estate, which is located on top of the same hill as Plattekloof and is a part of the Durbanville Wine Route, which is one of the attractions of visiting this region.

Apart from the vistas, the ease of access is what drives the strong demand for real estate in this region of the world, making it a preferred starting point for travellers to Cape Town. If you avoid going outside during rush hour, you can easily travel to Cape Town’s international airport, the beaches in the Blaauwberg Region, the Tyger Valley business district, the wine regions, and, did we mention the views from here?
