This achievement comes shortly after another notable success in June 2023, when Direx was named a finalist in the African Youth in Tourism Innovation Challenge 2023, held in Swakopmund, Namibia.
The 2023 Global Startup Pitch is a fiercely competitive competition that attracts startups from around the world, all focused on developing cutting-edge solutions for the travel and hospitality sectors. Out of a pool of over 120 exceptional startups, only 25 were chosen to advance to the initial round of the pitch competition. Following an intense and thorough evaluation process, 18 startups, including Direx, emerged as semifinalists.
In the semifinals, these dynamic startups presented their groundbreaking ideas to a distinguished panel of judges. Following spirited deliberation, Direx was among the five standout startups chosen to proceed to the finals.
The entire Direx team is now eagerly preparing for the upcoming in-person finals, set to take place in the vibrant city of Singapore this October. This significant milestone marks a pivotal moment in Direx’s journey, as it will showcase its innovative solutions on a global stage.
