1.Assin Manso Slave River
Although the place will get you into tears, but it is a must-visit destination if you want to learn more about Africa Americans slave history. Assin Manso is located 40 kilometers along the Cape Coast-Kumasi highway. It is one of the top historical sites in Ghana. Assin Manso Slave River Park was one of the largest slaves’ markets for gathering people to sell into slavery during the infamous trans-Atlantic slave trade time.
It is worth seeing the destination since you will be following the route taken by the ancestors of many Africa Americans.
The river is where the slave merchants stopped and slaves were allowed to recuperate there after a long journey. They are well fed at the river and rest for several days or weeks. So, they can look healthy and strong for their buyers.
2.Cape Coast Castle
Cape Coast is the first place the Portuguese settled on for local settlement within which its trade lodge was built in 1555. The Swedes, led by Krusenstjerna was the initiators into the permanent structure presently known as Cape Coast Castle. In 1653 the Swedish Africa Company constructed a timber fort there. It was originally a center of trade in timber and gold and was later used in the Trans-Atlantic slave trade.

3.Elmina Castle
Elmina Castle was built by the Portuguese in 1482 as Castelo de Sao de Mina (St George of the Mina Castle), also known as Castelo de Mina. The castle is the top destination for tourists visiting Cape Coast, Central Region.
According to history, Elmina and Elmina Castle was the first trading post built on the Gulf of Guinea, so is the oldest European building in existence below the Sahara.
The castle was extensively restored by the Ghanaian government in the 1990s. Renovation of the castle continues. Today, Elmina’s economy is sustained by tourism and fishing. Elmina Castle is preserved as a Ghanaian national museum and the monument was designated as a World Heritage Monument under UNESCO in 1979. 4.Komenda Cave
Komenda Cave is located on the ocean shore, west of Komenda town. The Cave dominates a series of natural erosional features worn into the sandstone along the shore by the sea.
Accessibility is made easy by stairs leading to the beach from the Komenda College grounds. The Cave is made up of a relatively narrow tunnel, open at both ends with a floor area of approximately 200sqm. The passage is narrowed by rock debris and the low ceiling, limits the usage of the floor space. The mouth of the Cave opens to the west at the beach level and leads northeast, parallel to the shore.

5.Kakum National Park
It is one of only 3 locations in Africa with a canopy walkway, which is 350 meters (1,150 ft) long and connects seven tree tops which provides access to the forest. This park is built and covers an area of 375 square kilometers (145 sq mi). It was established in the year 1931 as a reserve forest before later in 1992 convicted to a part for tourists.
The canopy walkway is the main attraction, but there are other side attractions you can enjoy with your kids like the children’s park, animal viewing, and treehouse.
6.Fete Beach
Fate beach is the most instagrammble beach in Central region and must-visit beach for tourists looking to experience luxury in Central Region. Located just an hour drive from west Accra. Fete is a small beach town located at a hillside that slopes down to the sandy beach. Fete beach is close to a fishing town called Senya Beraku.
7.Brenu Akyinim Beach
From Cape Coast, follow the road to Takoradi and turn left on the Brenu Akyinim junction. Follow the signs and there is Brenu Akyinim beach resort. It is the cleanest beach and the most popular beach in Central Region. It is one of the top places to see in Central Region of Ghana
