Hout Bay, which means “Wood Bay” when translated literally, got its name since it was a major supply of the building materials used to build early Cape Town. These days, Hout Bay offers tourists a fantastic selection of seafood eateries, hopping weekend markets, and boat cruises to Duiker Island, where a resident seal colony resides.
