Okponglo is a locality in Ghana. Okponglo is situated west of La Bawalshie, and northwest of East Legon Residential Area. Today it’s classified as a “2nd Class Residential Area” of the Accra Metropolitan District of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. Okpongle is arguably a popular resident to locals in using the Madina to Accra road and the University of Ghana (legon) students. And it is not popularly known by tourists.
This is really the heart of Legon – bus stop for students, Sports stadium, homes in essentially quiet neighbourhoods and offices for companies. Accra Mall lies just off the Airport road, one of the popular shopping centres in Ghana. It’s on that road that you will find the Premium LED screen and 3D sign company. The area is always busy because of the University and the active bus stop. East legon is not far from Okponglo, it is just 5 min drive.
Madina is not far from the area – just a little drive to legon main gate and there is Madina. There are a series of restaurants, shops, and bars on Okpongle street to La Bawaishie.
