1.Kotoka International Airport.

This is the leading international airport in Ghana and is operated by the Ghana Airport Company Limited. It was previously known as Ghana International Airport. Later renamed to Kotoka International Airport in honor of the late Lieutenant-General Kwasi Kotoka.

Flight from Kotoka International Airport connects to many places around the world. Kotoka is so far the largest airport in Ghana and has the best passenger terminal to serve as many passengers.

Kotoka Airport has three(3) terminals in which the one and two terminals serve only regional and domestic operators and terminal three(3) has a large commercial retail area and six boarding bridges to serve international and long-haul operators.

2.Kumasi International Airport.

This airport was built to transport travelers from the Ashanti region of Ghana to other regions. It later undergo a project valued at $300 million to meet the international standard. Kumasi International Airport is the second largest airport in Ghana and is located just 6 kilometers from this town.

Airport upgrades in Kumasi, Ghana, have made the airport’s infrastructure more friendly to visitors. The airport is now the second busiest among all the airports in Ghana.

3.Temale Airport.

This airport is located in the capital of the Northern region and was built to serve as domestic transport for travelers connecting mainly from Accra. Sometimes travelers find it stressful to travel by road and the airport came to facilitate travels from Accra. In 2008, it was renovated and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to serve internationally.

4.Sunyani Airport.

This airport was built as an airstrip back in 1942 to facilitate communication for the Allied Forces. It was later abandoned but revived in 1974 to meet the traveling needs of Sunyani town. Sunyani Airport is currently undergoing a renovation it meets its new standard.

5.Takoradi Airport.

6.Ho Airport.

Ho airport this the new airport in Ghana and was constructed in 2018 by the Government of Ghana. This enables the people of Ho and the Volta region as a whole to connect to other regions.
The airport is not fully done and not officially operating, and the Government is making plans to commercialize the airport soon.

7.Wa Airport.

The airport is located in the Capital of the Upper West Region and serves the people of Wa. The land was acquired by the Government in the late 19s. The airport started operating on 15th October 2019 with service by African World Airlines from Accra.

8.Yendi Airport.

This airport is serving Yendi, a town in the Northern Region of Ghana. Yendi airport is not popular, and many stakeholders don’t know its existence.
