Dodi World – The Ultimate Guide

MV Dodi Princess (World), an addition of the Volta Hotel, is located at Dodi Princess in Akosombo, Lake Volta. The Dodi Princess II, a freshly built 176-capacity cruise ship, replaced its predecessor.

Despite having half the capacity of Dodi Princess I (350), the three-deck Dodi Princess II has all the intimate touches of the former, with a modern appeal provided by its nicely-set-out bar on the middle deck. Live band music entertains guests on-board on the wooden-floor upper-deck with a great view of the lake.

The Akosombo Dam, Presidential chalets, Dwarfs’ Island, the tilapia farm, and magnificent vistas of nearby mountains may all be seen when sailing on the lake.

Aside from the two-hour voyage to Dodi Island, the hotel’s Maritime Club House provides a variety of additional water-sports activities.

Watersports aficionados can rent kayaks and speedboats. For those who are afraid of water, the view of the river and surrounding mountainous terrain, as well as the fresh breeze, will undoubtedly calm you as you sip freshly-made fruit juice and eat hot-grilled tilapia from the lake’s tilapia farm.

Upon arrival at Dodi, visitors are greeted by the island’s residents who perform colorful cultural music and traditional dances; it’s a genuinely memorable experience. Around 300 people live on a part of the rocky island. The VRA owns the other half, which is where most people go.

Until now, the island had nothing notable to draw hundreds of tourists who might wish to stay overnight or spend money while they were there. That, however, has changed.

On the bare island, the VRA has built a park. There is currently an ostrich park, a bushbuck park, and two enormous bird cages with a variety of colorful native and exotic birds. The theme park’s three enormous ostriches are very friendly.

Who owns Dodi Island?

The Dodi World refers to the Dodi Island in the Eastern Region’s Asuogyaman District, the Dodi Princess 2 ferry, which is managed by Volta Hotel Akosombo, a subsidiary of the Volta River Authority, and the people on board.

Ghana Travel Restrictions

Ghana is open to most travelers again. I mean travelers from all over the world. However, you do need proof of your COVID-19 vaccination(s) or a negative test result before being allowed entry.

Many hotels, attractions, and private tours are open with new health & safety protocols in place, and you still have to follow certain guidelines. They are all good for our safety.
