Fairland, Johannesburg – All You Need To Know

Fairland, a charming neighbourhood in the north of Johannesburg, is close to Northcliff and Darrenwood, as well as Brightwater Commons, another sizable shopping complex that was formerly known as the Randburg Waterfront. Fairland is also a short distance from Cresta, one of the city’s most notable landmarks and home to a wide variety of shops and entertainment. The artificial lake has been significantly shrunk in size, and all that is left is a single central pond, though the musical fountains are still present.

One of the older, leafier communities known for its sizable, lush gardens and quite spacious homes is Fairland. It has lately grown to include the R1.2 billion FNB and WesBank campus, located at the intersection of Wilson and Beyers Naude roads. The building is large enough to house both Ellis Park and Wanderer’s stadiums, and it is a 2-kilometre walk around its perimeter. It appears to have been constructed in accordance with environmentally friendly standards, starting with the foundations, which were laid without removing any soil from the site.

But Fairland, Johannesburg is close to one of the city’s biggest green spaces. Residents of the city picked Emmarentia Dam and the Johannesburg Botanic Garden as the greatest passive recreation area in 2004. The area is graced by over 30 000 trees, allowing city people to stroll and unwind while enjoying a picnic on the lawns of the dam. A sizable rose garden, a variety of succulent plants, and a herb garden with traditional African medicinal herbs are also present.
