Garden Route National Park: Storm surge in Tsitsikamma

Due to unfavorable weather in the area, South African National Parks (SANParks) has alerted the public that a storm surge is currently occurring near the Tsitsikamma part of the Garden Route National Park.

Local authorities and the National Park management are evaluating the situation in terms of safety. At this time, all guests and employees have been taken to a safe location. All people living in the Tsitsikamma region must be kept safe and healthy at all times. In order to ensure that the situation is handled appropriately and that tourists are kept safe during this storm surge, the management of the National Park is diligently collaborating with local authorities.

Visitors are warned to use caution if they intend to visit the region. Due to the storm surge, SANParks communications are now not working in the Garden Route National Park’s Tsitsikamma region. We will update you!
