The town of Mataheko is located in the Ghanaian Greater Accra Region’s Ablekuma Central Municipal area. Russia is not far from Mataheko, and southwest of Kaneshie. Over the years the area has gone under many developments to ensure the safety of the residents. It is arguably one of the best places to stay in Accra.
In 2022, floods have taken over major streets in Accra and some homes. Portions of the Central Business District, Kwame Nkrumah Interchange, Sahara, Odawna, Shiashie, Mateheko, and Kaneshie First Light, among other areas, were all not spared by the floodwaters. After that, the government of Ghana is putting measures in place to help prevent any floods around Mataheko and other areas.
It is hard to believe that Mataheko became more popular after legendary musician Czar mention it in his “Mercy Loko track. That was when everyone start to like the area more. The Mataheto government school is one of the popular schools in Ablejuma Central Municipal.
