A little seaside community called Strandfontein can be found at the Olifants River’s mouth. Strandfontein, which means “beach fountain,” has transformed from a sleepy rural beach hamlet to a bustling tourist destination, especially during the South African summer and the wildflower season (late July to September), when the town is a popular weekend getaway spot for residents of Cape Town.
Due to the exceptional prospects for viewing Southern Right whales as they approach the protective bay during the calving season, Strandfontein has grown to be a well-liked vacation spot. At this time, there is a very good chance of seeing the Southern Rights playing in the bay with their young children nearby.
