Artist Alliance Gallery – Art Home In Ghana

Ghana is a country rich in artistic skill, particularly in the fields of painting and sculpture. People come from all over the world to witness and buy these works of art, which they then carry back to their native countries.

The Artist Alliance Art Gallery, in Nungua, a suburb of Accra, is the ideal destination for any tourist visiting Ghana for this purpose.

Former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan commissioned the Artist Alliance Gallery building on the seaside in Nungua in 2008 as part of efforts to promote art culture and offer art lovers with a modern centre where African arts and other artistic works can be purchased. The mansion is divided into three storeys, each of which is dedicated to a different type of aesthetic impressions and monuments. Two of the building’s three levels are dedicated to modern classic paintings and art works, with a separate space dedicated to Kente materials.

Artist Alliance Gallery is a location where artists, art enthusiasts, art buyers, and art collectors come together to form long-term relationships that benefit all parties involved.

While the major goal of the centre is for tourists to buy art, visitors who simply want to take a tour of the gallery are also welcomed by pleasant staff who are always on hand to accompany visitors around and explain certain meaningful paintings.

Ablade Glover, a lecturer at KNUST in the 1960s, was the one who launched the gallery’s development. However, the dedicated lecturer’s quest to establish a home for fine art in Ghana proved to be a difficult challenge, with progress on the structure coming to a halt due to financial constraints and multiple revolutions along the road. Finally, in 1993, Ablade Glover was able to open the Art Gallery with the support of certain partners and art enthusiasts. Years later, the Venture failed once more. But Ablade, determined to make it work, began on a long-term endeavour to construct the existing structure, a project that was a huge success and led to the creation of the Artist Alliance Gallery.
