Atwea Mountains – How To Get To Atwea Mountains

The Atwea Mountains, as is known, have become one of Ghana’s most popular and well-visited prayer mountains.

According to historians, the practice of Christians mounting the rock began decades ago when Abraham Osei-Assibey, a local Methodist pastor in Atwea, climbed the Atwea Stone to pray to God.

After spending a few days praying on the mountain, he descended and began taking his fellowship to the mountain to pray on a regular basis. After the story got viral, Christians began to believe it.

The performance has evolved since then to become what it is today.

It is located in the Ashanti Region’s Central District and is probably one of the most revered mountains for religious reasons.

Thousands of Christians and non-Christians from Ghana and other African countries flock to this peak every year to pray.

Religious people, particularly Christians, go there to seek spiritual intervention, pray, and seek God’s face, among other things.

Everyone is welcome to come and pray on the mountain at any time of the year.

Ghana Travel Restrictions

Ghana is open to most travelers again. I mean travelers from all over the world. However, you do need proof of your COVID-19 vaccination(s) or a negative test result before being allowed entry.

Many hotels, attractions, and private tours are open with new health & safety protocols in place, and you still have to follow certain guidelines. They are all good for our safety.
