Application Process

Please read carefully the Application requirements and the TERMS & CONDITIONS. - When done completing the online application, remember to lodge your APPLICATION – this must include the physical passport, proof of payment and all relevant supporting documents at your selected processing office.
- Note that you may stop in the middle of the online application process and return later to complete the application using the RETRIEVE APPLICATION option
Please note that Application processing will only commence on receipt of the hard copy of your application form with all required supporting documents at the Mission as per selected mode of submission.
Ghana Passpost Renewal Entitlement
- Applicants for Ghanaian passports must be Citizens of Ghana by Birth, Naturalisation, Registration, Adoption or by any Enactment. Documentary evidence must be provided in support of any such claim.
- A Ghanaian passport is the only reliable and universally accepted travel and identification document for Ghanaians who travel abroad.
- Issued to Ghanaian citizens only, a Ghanaian passport reflects the identity of the applicant as determined by documentary evidence of citizenship and documents to support identity.

Photo Requirements
A passport photo shall be taken of the applicant during the application process at the Mission or the Consulate.
Please note that : Uploaded image size should be 140px*170px
- Must be a recent colour photo taken within the last six months and printed in colour.
- Background must be white or off-white in colour.
- Must be facing forwards and looking straight at the camera.
- Must have a plain expression and your mouth closed.
- Must have your eyes open and visible.
- Must not have hair in front of your eyes.
- Must not have a head covering (unless it’s for religious or medical reasons)
- Must not have anything covering your face.

NOTE: PASSPORTS WILL ONLY BE ISSUED WHEN ALL THE REQUIREMENTS HAVE BEEN FULLY SATISFIED AND APPLICANTS MUST ALLOW AT LEAST EIGHT(8) WEEKS FROM THE DATE OF SUBMISSION OF THE FORMS TO THE MISSION FOR THE DELIVERY OF THEIR NEW PASSPORTS.
Applications must be completed within 21 days of commencement. Incomplete applications will be deleted after 21 days if not completed and submitted online. Applicants will have to re-apply when application is cancelled.
