How Large Is Ghana – Ghana is This Big

Ghana is often referred to as the second most popular and well-known country in West Africa, following Nigeria, and as a major economic actor in the region. The country’s population was 28.3 million people in 2016, although it is expected to reach 30 million in 2019.

Ghana is the 80th largest country in the world, with a land area of 239, 567 square kilometres, making it one of the largest in the sub-region (West Africa).

Ghana is less than half the size of Texas, a US state with a land area of 695, 552 square kilometres, and one-fourth the size of Nigeria, a West African country with a land area of 923,763 square kilometres. Ghana is likewise somewhat smaller than Cote D’Ivoire (322, 463 square kilometres), but about six times the size of Togo to the east (56,785 square kilometres)

Ghana’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2019 was $66 billion, making it a middle-income country and one of the best in the sub-region.

Burkina Faso to the north, Togo to the east, and Ivory Coast to the west border the country, which is located along the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Guinea.

Ghana is a peaceful country that is one of the greatest to visit due to its enormous size and numerous tourist attractions, some of which are tied to the trans-Atlantic slave trade and colonisation.

Ghana Travel Restrictions

Ghana is open to most travelers again. I mean travelers from all over the world. However, you do need proof of your COVID-19 vaccination(s) or a negative test result before being allowed entry.

Many hotels, attractions, and private tours are open with new health & safety protocols in place, and you still have to follow certain guidelines. They are all good for our safety.
