In a significant development for air travel in the region, LAM – Mozambique Airlines, the flag carrier of Mozambique, is poised to enhance connectivity by introducing flights to Cape Town, South Africa. This exciting news was officially announced by WESGRO, the Tourism, Trade, and Investment Promotion Agency for Cape Town and the Western Cape, in a press release dated September 12, 2023.

Starting from October 15, 2023, LAM – Mozambique Airlines will initiate operations between Maputo International Airport (MPM) in Mozambique’s capital, Maputo, and Cape Town International Airport (CPT) in the picturesque city of Cape Town. Travelers can anticipate the convenience of three weekly flights on this newly established route.

This move is expected to foster stronger economic and cultural ties between Mozambique and South Africa, providing travelers with more accessible and flexible options for travel between these two dynamic destinations.
