Saudi’s flyadeal takes possession of 30th aircraft

by Nathan Buabeng

Low-cost carrier Flyadeal has marked a significant milestone by receiving its 30th aircraft, an Airbus A320 neo named Al Taj (The Crown), in Toulouse. The delivery took place at the Airbus delivery center in southern France. The aircraft, with registration number HZ-FBD, embarked on its inaugural delivery flight to Jeddah with a flyadeal delegation on board.

This A320 neo, configured with 186 all-economy class seats in a 3-3 layout, is part of a 30-aircraft order placed by parent company Saudia Group in 2019 specifically for flyadeal operations. With a young fleet averaging just over two years old, flyadeal continues to expand its route network and fleet in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030, serving both domestic and international destinations.

Celebrating its sixth anniversary, flyadeal has become a prominent player in the Saudi aviation industry, having flown over 20 million passengers since its launch in September 2017. The addition of the A320 neo aircraft enhances its operational efficiency and allows for further expansion into new travel markets beyond the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.

Sanjiv Kapoor, acting CEO of Flyadeal, expressed pride in the airline’s rapid growth and commitment to providing competitively low fares to the traveling public.
