1.Kakum National Park

Kakum National Park is situated in the Central region of Ghana. It covers an area of about 3,000 hectares and is one of seven World Heritage sites in Ghana. The park has a tropical rainforest serving as a habitat for many species of fauna, flora, and animal.

The park has a variety of habitats, including lowland rain forest (2,000m) and montane rain forest (1,000m). Some of the bird species found in Kakum include trogons, woodpeckers, owls, and hornbills. 2.Mole National Park

The Mole National Park is a national park in the Northwestern Region of Ghana. It covers an area of 4,500 square kilometers (1,722 sq mi), making it the largest park in Ghana. The park is located near the Mole River and the border of Burkina Faso.

The park is known for its large concentrations of elephants and hippopotamuses, as well as a variety of antelope including reedbucks, duikers, gazelles, and several species of bovids. It also has a rich birdlife with over 200 species recorded including the near-threatened crowned eagle and peregrine falcon.

In 1958, the government established a 50-square kilometer core area for wildlife protection out of which the current national park was created. In 1992 UNESCO designated a buffer zone around the protected area to include cultural heritage sites such as shrines and historical buildings. Digya National Park is one of the most picturesque places in the country. It is also home to elephants, monkeys, crocodiles, birds, and plants.

Occupying an area of 3,743 square kilometers, the park is the second largest national park in Ghana. It is in the Bono East region and is bordered on the north, south, and east by Lake Volta

Situated on the shores of Lake Volta, the park offers spectacular views of the lake and its islands. The vast expanse of the park is dotted with hundreds of islands, making it a place to explore. The park is also home to several species of mammals like elephants, monkeys, crocodiles, birds, and plants.

The national park’s peak tourism season begins in October and continues till February. As per reports about thousands of tourists visit it every year.

Bia National Park is located near the Ivorian border, the Bia River, and its tributaries, which flow into the Côte d’Ivoire drainage area. It is found in the transitional zone between moist-evergreen and moist semi-deciduous forest types.
