In Ghana’s Brong Ahafo Region, there are a few attractive tourist destinations to visit for recreational activities or simply to rest. Consider visiting any and it will be one of the best travel experience ever.

Tourist Attractions In Bono / Ahafo Region
1.Boabeng Fiema Monkey Sanctuary
This is a well-known tourist attraction in the Brong Ahafo Region. It is situated on a 35-hectare woodland tract that includes the settlements of Boabeng and Fiema, which are about a mile apart. Locals and tourists from all around Ghana and the world come to see the monkeys and have a nice time. The monkey sanctuary has no barriers and is home to around 700 different species of monkeys.
The Black and White Colobus and the smaller Campbell’s Mona are the two varieties of monkeys. The latter feeds on leaves from high in the trees, whereas the Mona graze on a range of foods from lower in the trees.
A monkey graveyard can also be located within the sanctuary. Locals are assigned to protect the monkeys, and it is also believed that anyone who kills a monkey in this sanctuary will be punished.
2.Digya National Park
It is situated on the lovely shores of Lake Volta. It houses a domestic elephant as well as various other plant species. Ghana’s Digya National Park is the country’s second-largest protected area.
The park, which is located in Brong Ahafo, spans 3500 square kilometers. In this park, you may witness around 200 different types of birds. The place is particularly worth seeing because of the crocodiles and other aquatic wildlife.
3.Fuller Falls
Fuller Falls is located 7 kilometers west of Kintampo in Yabraso. The Oyoko River, which is a tributary of the Black Volta, is its source. At Dwire Kumboe, on the border between Brong Ahafo and the Northern Region, the river falls into the Black Volta.
In 1988, a Filipino missionary, Rev. FR. Joseph Panabang, discovered the waterfall, which he created with the help of Adamu Amidu, a farmer near the river at the time.
Father Panabang and others used to visit for prayer sessions at the “Our Lady of Kintampo Prayer Park,” which was kept as a prayer grounds until he left Kintampo in 1998.
4.Kintampo Waterfalls
It is located on the Pumpum River near Kintampo, a tributary of the Black Volta, and is one of Ghana’s highest waterfalls. Known as Sanders Falls during colonial times, it is one of Ghana’s most popular waterfalls, with a large number of visitors each year.
It is the area’s biggest natural feature, buried deep in the forest and formed by three large waterfalls, the longest of which is 82 feet tall. The forest is home to a variety of bird and butterfly species. It is top among all the tourist sites in Brong Ahafo Region
5.Bui National Park
This park spans 1,821 square kilometers and includes a portion of the Black Volta. The Bui National Park is home to a variety of antelope and bird species. It’s famous for being home to a big number of hippopotamuses. Tourists can take a cruise around the National Park on the Black Volta River.
6.Lake Volta
Lake Volta, the world’s largest artificial reservoir by surface area, flows along the eastern side of Brong Ahafo. It boasts lovely views that people enjoy seeing. Local fisherman unload their catch here, and a boat from Akosombo docks.
