Capital Of Western Region

The Capital of Western Region is Sekondi-Takoradi. It’s a little complicated when trying to figure out which one is the capital. Sekondi and Takoradi are two separate cities in the Western region. But yet they are the capital of the region.
During my little research, I figure out why those two cities are the capital. They believe it’s a twin city and they all need to serve as capital.

These two capitals are the most active places in the Western region. The two cities host some of the tops hotels and vacation destinations. Stay in Takoradi for two days before you explore other places.

The spectacular scenery of the 400-year old stilt propped water settlement of Nzulezu is a unique village built on stilts in Lake Tadane, which is home to hundreds of people.

Fort Santo Antonio

The lost castle, that is how travelers traveling within the country calls Fort Santo Antonio. Fort Santo Antonio, which later became known as Fort Saint Anthony, is one of the oldest forts built by the Europeans in the time of the Gold Coast. It was located in Axim in the Western Region of Ghana and it is open to tourists all over the world.

During the Portuguese time, they built a trading post in Axin, near the edge of the River Ankobra, but they abandon it due to the attacks by the local people of Axim. Later in 1515, they constructed a massive triangular fort on a small promontory closer to the River Ankobia, named Santo Antonio.

The Busua beach has the highest wave in Ghana for surfing and the beach is one of the best camping destinations in Ghana. It is the most instagrammable beach in the Western region. Busua beach host some of the best resorts you can get in the region. But most travelers prefer camping which is also the best way to discover the region.

Fort Metal Cross, originally Fort Dixcove, is a military structure in Dixcove, Ghana.
